BC Wood can assist you in getting government funding to cover 50% to 75% of costs related to marketing and business development. This funding is available to BC’s value-added wood products industry to assist you with capacity building activities such as creating new strategies, sales coaching, and training for all aspects of marketing and business development. You do not need to be a BC Wood member to access this financial assistance. This cost-share funding is available in the following categories:

Funding covers upto 75% of the fee
Company specific projects use the information gained from assessments and discovery sessions to help improve competitiveness, address gaps, and strengthen your company’s supply chain. With this help, you will learn how to efficiently manage your business and market your product in a more professional and effective manner, ultimately growing your company.
The requirement for projects is that it must be capacity building. The goal of company projects is to build your internal capacity by giving you the tools required to improve your skills – and essentially do it yourself. Examples of eligible projects include:
Cost-share funding is available and covers up to 75% of the approved project’s total cost. Company projects are capped at $20,000, of this, funding would cover 50% ($10,000) to 75% ($15,000) and you would have to pay 25% ($5000) to 50% ($10,000).
BC Wood delivers a set of Business Development and Marketing Workshops throughout the year, focused on educating you on how to overcome your barriers to growth and move your business forward. Topics for workshops may include management training, sales coaching, marketing and business plan development, building an export plan, export readiness, market research, digital marketing, finances and tax support, creating partnerships with Indigenous Communities, and how to use social media tools.
